need your help: eating disorders & vegetarianism

i’m working on a 3-piece feature on eating disorders and vegetarianism. vegetarians – don’t worry! i’m not knocking vegetarianism, but sharing my experiences and talking about some of the correlations that i’ve found with both myself and many others i’ve known.

alfalfa sprouts

al-fal-fa sprouts?? yes, alfalfa sprouts. at our company meeting today, we had food and i picked up one of the sandwiches, which was overloaded with [coleslaw? salad? i'm not sure].  i had some alfalfa sprouts in the fridge, so i garnished my food with it.

a size by any other name

so, i clicked and skimmed this article on a model who increased her weight and the industrial effects of that (yeah, i know better). it was somewhat interesting, though, which is why i’m putting it here (in traditional adia form, i’ve eliminated numbers and specific behaviors). i like it because it calls out the b.s. of the fashion industry.

binge eating disorder and self-mutilation are going to be classified as official mental disorders in the new DSM (to be released in 2013).  i’ll share my thoughts about it later.

when is chicken not a chicken?

when it’s a burger!

almost an hour ago, i ordered a sourdough chicken sandwich from jack in the box.  when i came home, i chowed down.  halfway through, i realized that the meat was dark brown.  then i realized it was beef.  i haven’t eaten beef in 14 years.
