troy davis, unconscionable execution, & daisy

troy davis when i heard about the troy davis case, i was sad but not particularly moved. after all, people are executed often, unfortunately, and i’ve never stopped it before, so why “waste energy” now?

when was the last time…

you saw a black person dress up in a white person costume to commit a crime?

i’m not talking dead presidents white. i’m talking, “hey, i’m a white guy and i’m robbing you” white.

can you recall it? i’d think not.

but a white person dressing up as a black person to commit a crime? not as uncommon as you might think.  ( Read more )

i haven’t written about this here, but it’s not because i’ve not been thinking about it. i’ve thought about it every day since i heard about it. it deeply pains me.

the worst part is that things like this happen often. rarely is it caught on tape and broadcast on the news, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.
