there’s this term that’s referred to* when you start working in a medical field, find out symptoms of a disease, and start thinking that you might have that disease. working at a psychology/self-help company, when i first got here and listened to books being pitched, i’d find myself thinking, do i have that too?

clearly, as you can tell from my pieces, i have a few issues (don’t we all?) and feel pretty in touch with them, but that didn’t keep me from thinking, hmm, did i miss the ball with issues x,y,z?

the past two days, we’ve been discussing all of the new books for spring 2011, and it was refreshing to notice that i wasn’t internalizing a number of issues and wondering if i had them. ( Read more )
